How It All Started
It all began when Wallace, an educator with a passion for play, noticed something remarkable during weekly game sessions with fellow teachers. While students struggled to complete traditional worksheets, those same children could effortlessly master complex board game rules requiring strategic thinking, careful resource management, and creative problem-solving.
This striking contrast planted the seed for Sparky Box – what if we could channel that natural engagement into meaningful learning?
Through countless playtesting sessions with both educators and children, we came to a profound realization. Board games offer far more than knowledge delivery; they provide the perfect environment for developing essential 21st-century skills: critical thinking, strategy planning, collaboration, and adaptation – these aren’t just game skill, they’re vital life competencies in disguise.
